4th grade/ LIVING THING CLASSIFICATION

During the Science-Internet class, students are investigating how are some living things classified in kingdom, phylum, classe, order, family, genus and specie.

Science Club AIPCV/2011

Many students are living the experience of experimenting in the Science Experimental course. Recently, students were able to make litmus paper using a red cabbage. In addition, they were planning a SCHOOL CAMPAIGN related to collecting TETRA PAK containers.

The Science Club at AIPCV is a reality. Some estudents have enroll to this dynamic course in which students have the chance to invent, experiment, demonstrate and learn a lot about different Science topics.

6th/Physical Properties of Matter

The students in 6th grade are studying the physical properties of matter. During a physical change matter changes the size, shape or state but its chemical composition is not changed into a new substance.
Students learned how to measure mass, volume and density of matter using instruments and doing math calculations.

5th/THE PLANT KINGDOM

The students in 5th grade are studing the Plant Kingdom. In addition, they are comparing the Plant Kingdom with the other four kingdoms of life. Nowadays the Plant Kingdom is divided into vascular and nonvascular plants. Vascular plants have tissues that transport water and food. Nonvascular plants do not have these tissues.

4th/ IDENTIFYING LIVING THINGS

Students in 4th grade are learning to identify living things taking into account the five basic functions of life:
1. grow and develop
2. reproduce
3. get rid of waste
4. use energy
5. respond to the environment
