A mineral is a solid formation that occurs naturally in the earth while a rock is a solid combination of more than one mineral formation which is also occurring naturally.

Quartz is a rock that use into a jewel. The quartz is made by crystal and rock. The quartz found in mountains is the second abundant rock in the word and is a rock that is in the granite always the quartz are hard, triangle, circle, square and is a expensive mineral.

First the Quartz is very beautiful and useful. It could be of color white, pink or purple. The shape is rectangular, triangular or like a square. Next the texture could be soft, rough or hard and the size could be small, medium or big. Finally the Quartz is used for jewels or other things. The different between a rock and a mineral is. A mineral is a solid formation that occurs naturally in the earth while a rock is a solid combination of more than one mineral formation which is also occurring naturally.

The travertine come from an old town of Italia named tibu, his name come from the finder Lapis Traburtino, in the river Tibur. This is a rare rock that absorb water.

Granite
Granite is a common and widely occurring type of intrusive, felsic, igneous rock. Granites usually have a medium- to coarse-grained texture. Occasionally some individual crystals phenocrysts are larger than the groundmass, in which case the texture is known as porphyritic. A granitic rock with a porphyritic texture is sometimes known as a porphyry. Granites can be pink to gray in color, depending on their chemistry and mineralogy. By definition, granite is an igneous rock with at least 20% quartz by volume. Granite differs from granodiorite in that at least 35% of the feldspar in granite is alkali feldspar as opposed to plagioclase; it is the alkali feldspar that gives many granites a distinctive pink color. Outcrops of granite tend to form tors and rounded massifs. Granites sometimes occur in circular depressions surrounded by a range of hills, formed by the metamorphic aureole or hornfels. Granite is usually found in the continental plates of the Earth's crust.The average density of granite is between 2.65[1] and 2.75 g/cm3, its compressive strength usually lies above 200 MPa, and its viscosity at standard temperature and pressure is 3-6 • 1019 Pa•s.[2]
